see moreenough cabinet storage for 4 people to store lots of food and other appliances. In my experience, the fridge is big enough for 4 men to share, but barely. I recommend purchasing a mini fridge for extra space if you tend to have a lot of groceries. There is enough space in the pantry for all of us to share. The main gripe is not having air conditioning. Or any ventilation system for that matter. Having a decent sized fan is a MUST. It is currently June and the temperature inside my bedroom on average has been above 82 degrees. This does make sleeping difficult most nights. I have had to resort to putting a blanket in front of my window to block out the sun to hopefully reduce the heat entering the room. I am aware there are workarounds to this problem, but when i'm paying this much for a private room, it is a problem I would much rather not have to solve. Heating in the winter is not a problem as there are heaters in every room including bathrooms. Parking is decent, although a little expensive. Distance from campus is not bad either. Usually a 7-13 minute walk depending on where classes are. Internet is not the greatest, but will get you by. If you're looking for fast reliable hard working internet, your best bet is to provide it yourself. Room size is not the same, but close enough. If you can get a room that does not face the sun ever, you'll probably have a better experience in the spring/summer. Overall experience has been okay, although for the price I am paying I would at the very least have liked to see air conditioning provided. If you are a student looking for a private room in a quiet area I would recommend renting here if you are okay with not having much in the way of cooling/ventilation.
see morein it. The internet isn't great and there's no place to plugin an ethernet cable, so if you want direct internet to a computer or desktop, you're going to have to buy an antenna. If you want to set up your own router then they'll tell you no because it'll crash the internet. There's no AC, so you'll have to buy a fan for your own room or open the windows. Even with heating off, it'll get up to 80 degrees in your room or hotter. If you have a bike, be aware that there are tones of unused bikes rusting on the bike racks. I'm not sure if these bikes have been left for the years or if people just don't use their bikes. So not a lot of bike space. The parking lot is big so that's nice. 100$ to pay for a permit for every semester though. Recommend getting a city permit which is the same price, but it lasts a year. Because the place is older, things do break easier, but the maintentance people are friendly and are pretty quick about fixing things, unless stuff breaks on the weekend. The emergency maintenance number isn't posted on the autumn winds website, but it is in the office and hopefully updated by now. Livingroom and kitchen are decently sized. Hallway to the rooms is small. Storing stuff in the apartment is good with a closet and some cubicals in the hallway. Bathrooms are good sized. The enviroment is nice and there are connected amenities (gym, theater room, piano, study rooms) with all the other apartments that are affiliated with Autumn winds. Never used any of them so I can't tell you how good they are. It's hit or miss when being paired up with other roommates, but I don't think that's one them. My biggest gripes is that they will charge an extra 100$ to 200$ dollars depending on the semester you are staying. The liablity fee which is about 50$ every semester. This bit is on me, but they will charge 150$ for cancelling your contract no matter what and you can't use the 300$ deposit to pay it off. Again, that's on me. Just don't want anyone to make that mistake. There's also 50$ setup fee if you want to do monthly payments. You will have to pay for a Springbreak contract which is about 100$ to stay for that one week break. I'd be more understanding if it were like 50$, but I don't run the place so... I've also noticed that they don't deep clean between breaks. I don't know. I've worked with apartment complexes because my parents own some, so coming here and seeing how much these people will nickle and dime you for every little thing does make me a little angry. The only reason I'd recommend this place is the privacy, the amenities, and that it's close to school.
see moreThe rooms are just the right size for me and it is nice having two bathrooms to share 😊 It is really close to campus, which is super convenient for me. Everyone is respectful of the Honor Code and is mindful of their neighbors. Plus, the ward is amazing! Overall, I have really enjoyed living here and hope to live here again!
